Man Charged with Murder of Headteacher in Cycling Crash

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a headteacher who was knocked off his bike in Altrincham, Greater Manchester. Simon Richardson, 34 or 35 according to different reports and of no fixed address, faces multiple charges including manslaughter, dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene, and driving without insurance.

The victim, Michael Mullins, 56, was cycling home from Stretford Grammar School where he had served as headteacher for 17 years. The incident occurred on Paddock Lane in Altrincham on Monday evening. Despite efforts by paramedics at the scene, Mr. Mullins was declared dead.

Richardson is due to appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court later today. Two other men and a woman who were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving have been released on bail pending further inquiries as reported by BBC.
