Three Fatal Incidents Reported in Riverside County

Three separate fatal incidents were reported in Riverside County over the weekend, according to CBS News. The first involved a multi-car crash on Highway 74 in Lake Elsinore that left one person dead and two others critically injured. The second was a hit-and-run incident in Jurupa Valley that claimed the life of a pedestrian. The third was a shooting involving a father and son in Mead Valley, which resulted in both individuals being pronounced dead at the scene.

The multi-car crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. near Highway 74 and Trellis Lane. Deputies found three cars involved in what they described as a "major injury traffic collision." All three drivers were rushed to nearby hospitals, where one person succumbed to their injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made.

In Jurupa Valley, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver just before 2:25 a.m. near the Mission Boulevard and Campbell Street intersection. Deputies pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors.

The third incident involved a deadly shooting in Mead Valley late Saturday night. Riverside County detectives reported that 56-year-old Guadalupe Laborin was found suffering from gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene. His son, 26-year-old Julio Garcia, was also found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and pronounced dead. Investigators identified Laborin as the victim and Garcia as the suspect.
