Kanye West Postpones Marseille Show

Kanye West, now known as Ye, has postponed his scheduled June 11 concert at the Orange Velodrome in Marseille, France. The rapper announced the postponement on X (formerly Twitter) Tuesday, stating he made the decision 'after much thought and consideration.'

The move comes amid growing opposition to Ye's tour due to his past antisemitic remarks and promotion of Nazism. French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez reportedly sought to block the performance, according to media reports cited by TimesLIVE and Reuters. Marseille mayor Benoit Payan had previously declared Ye unwelcome in the city.

This is not the first time Ye has faced travel restrictions due to his controversial statements. Britain recently refused him entry over past antisemitic comments, forcing the cancellation of his planned headline appearance at London's Wireless Festival. According to Daily Mail, Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that 'Kanye West should never have been invited to headline Wireless,' emphasizing the government's stance against antisemitism.

Ye was also barred from Australia last July after releasing a song titled 'Heil Hitler' and advertising swastika T-shirts on his website. Despite these controversies, Ye has continued performing in other locations, including recent shows in the US and Mexico City. According to Reuters, he has additional European and Asian performances planned for this summer.
